Kestra is the universal orchestration platform — open-source, declarative, and designed to orchestrate everything: data pipelines, IT automation, business workflows, and AI/agentic systems.

Trusted by over 10,000 organizations worldwide and backed by investors from Datadog, dbt Labs, Hugging Face, and Algolia, Kestra empowers engineers to build scalable, reliable, and transparent automation for mission-critical systems.

The open-source project is at the heart of Kestra. With 20,000+ GitHub stars, hundreds of contributors, and a thriving global community, Kestra is built in the open — with and for engineers.

We’re deeply committed to open source as both a philosophy and a growth strategy, driven by a simple belief: the best products are built collaboratively, transparently, and with curiosity.

Mission

We’re looking for someone who loves to teach through examples — to build things that others can learn from, and to make complex ideas feel simple.

As Kestra’s first Developer Evangelist in the US, you’ll have the autonomy to shape our presence across the American developer landscape.

Your mission is to make engineers aware, curious, and inspired by Kestra’s vision of orchestration — through real demonstrations, not just words.

You’ll represent Kestra in the field, engage with open-source communities, and help engineers instantly understand what makes Kestra different: its speed, simplicity, and universality.

Key Responsibilities

Be the visible technical voice of Kestra in North America — by building, sharing, and engaging with developers where they are.

Developer Evangelism & Community

  • Represent Kestra at developer events, conferences, podcasts, and hackathons across data, AI, and automation ecosystems.

  • Engage with open-source communities (GitHub, Reddit, Slack, Discord, Hacker News) to build awareness and credibility.

  • Build authentic relationships with developers — showing through real-world use cases how Kestra simplifies orchestration where other tools add complexity.

  • Encourage curiosity, experimentation, and conversation around Kestra’s open, declarative model.

Technical Content & Education

  • Create example-driven content: tutorials, sample projects, videos, diagrams, and “Kestra in 5 minutes” demos that show real value quickly.

  • Build and maintain demo applications illustrating Kestra’s power across key domains:

    • Data orchestration (Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, Kafka, Spark)

    • AI and agentic workflows (LangChain, OpenAI, fine-tuning pipelines)

    • IT automation (Ansible, Terraform, vSphere, ServiceNow)

  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing to ensure technical accuracy while telling compelling stories that inspire.

  • Improve documentation and onboarding experiences with insights from community interactions.

Product Feedback & Ecosystem Influence

  • Act as the bridge between the developer community and Kestra’s product and engineering teams.

  • Gather structured feedback from the field, highlight emerging needs, and contribute ideas that strengthen the open-source ecosystem.

  • Identify new integrations and use cases that broaden Kestra’s reach and developer appeal.

What We’re Looking For

Core Qualifications

  • Strong software engineering background in data, AI, DevOps, or automation.

  • Hands-on experience with orchestration or workflow technologies

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to make complex systems accessible and engaging.

  • Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and precision — focusing on demonstration through usage rather than marketing language.

  • Awareness of open-source culture, developer experience, and community dynamics.

  • Comfortable speaking publicly, hosting demos, and engaging with contributors and engineers in authentic ways.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, or technical community leadership.

  • Public visibility or content portfolio (talks, GitHub projects, tutorials, technical blogs, video content).

  • Interest in AI/LLM workflows and how orchestration enables intelligent automation.

What Success Looks Like

  • Within your first year, Kestra has become a recognized and respected name among open-source and engineering communities in North America.

  • Developers regularly cite your talks, demos, or content as how they first discovered Kestra — and what convinced them to try it.

  • You’ve built a library of impactful examples and demos that clearly show Kestra’s value and drive measurable community adoption.

  • GitHub stars, contributors, and community activity continue to grow — alongside feedback loops that visibly influence the product roadmap.

Why Join Kestra Now

Kestra is at an inflection point — rapid open-source growth, enterprise adoption, and a global community expanding fast.

You’ll join a small, high-impact team of engineers, product builders, and storytellers shaping the next chapter of orchestration.

You’ll have the freedom to create, experiment, and represent a company that believes in openness, creativity, and technical excellence.

We’re building the future of orchestration — in the open, with the community, and for engineers everywhere.

Kestra offers ample employment benefits including health insurance, 401K, and PTO.
